JAMIE BROWN RN, RD, LD, CDCES

Hi, I am Jamie Brown! I am a Registered Nurse and Registered Dietitian, licensed in the State of Oregon. I am also a nationally licensed Diabetes Care and Education Specialist. I have worked in a hospital environment for 38 years, helping patients navigate their health journeys. I enjoyed teaching people about their health and watching them take the reins as they learned to care better for themselves. In 2014, I was honored to receive the Diabetes Educator of the Year Award from the Oregon Chapter of the Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialists. After retiring in 2019, I’ve decided that I want to share four decades of hard-won experience in managing health and wellness for all kinds of people online. I maintain my licenses through continuing education so that I can bring the most up-to-date topics to you on my website. I hope you enjoy it and find things that help you live your best life.

On a more personal note, I enjoy laughing (some people say I laugh too loudly and too much, but I don’t think that’s possible), cooking (I am up for almost anything), gardening (I am a master gardener), water-color painting (just a beginner), reading (especially lifestyle and gardening magazines, cookbooks and real books), and hanging with friends and family. I enjoy exercise, but it has to be fun! I have three grown boys and a Perfect Daughter- in- Law and have been married for many good years, which would’ve been impossible without my sense of humor, haha!  I also love learning new things, so here we go, as I learn to bring my expertise to the world online.
